Shopify to Xero Setup Guide

Connect your Shopify store to Xero and start syncing orders automatically. The whole process takes under 5 minutes.

1

Sign up at syncible.co.uk

Visit syncible.co.uk/shopify-xero/ and click Start free trial. Enter your email address and choose your plan — Free (25 orders/month) or a paid plan (Starter, Growth, or Pro).

2

Install the Syncible app

Follow the install link in your welcome email, or open the Syncible app listing directly. Click Add app in Shopify and approve the scopes Syncible requests (read orders, write products, read customers).

Shopify will redirect you back to Syncible once installation is complete — no plugin file download needed.

3

Land on your Syncible dashboard

After install, Shopify embeds the Syncible dashboard inside your admin. You will see your shop listed at the top with a green Connected pill next to WooCommerce→Shopify.

4

Connect Xero

In your Syncible dashboard, click Connect Xero. You will be redirected to Xero to authorise the connection. Sign in, choose the organisation you want to sync to, and click Allow access.

You will be returned to the dashboard with a green Connected status next to Xero.

5

Choose your sync settings

Open Settings in the Syncible dashboard and confirm:

Sales ledger account code — which Xero revenue account to post orders to.
Tax handling — UK 20%, zero-rated, or mixed.
Payment accounts — which Xero bank account each payment gateway (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna) should settle into.

Sensible defaults are pre-filled for UK Xero tenants; you only need to change what your accountant has specified differently.

6

Test with your next order

Place a test order in Shopify (or wait for your next live order). Within about 30 seconds it will appear as an invoice in Xero with the correct customer, line items, VAT and payment recorded.

You can watch each order sync live under the Activity tab in your Syncible dashboard.

Your first order

Once connected, the next order placed on your Shopify store will automatically appear as an invoice in Xero within about 30 seconds. Refunds will create credit notes, and cancelled orders will void the corresponding invoice. You can monitor everything from your Syncible dashboard under the Orders and Activity tabs.

If you need to bring across historical orders, use the Order Backfill feature in your dashboard Settings tab. You can choose a date range and which order statuses to include.
